Reservations
In order to preserve the customer experience for all of our guests, we are offering reservations each evening. You can book a table using the reservation link below at the bottom of this page.
Please continue reading to understand more about our space and some private areas that can be rented to elevate your experience.
Private Booths:
For a more exclusive experience, reserve one of our three “Private Booths”. When visiting the reservation link, choose either "PRIVATE BOOTH ONE, TWO, THREE” along with the time you’d like to reserve it.
The booths cost $10 for 75 minutes. This fee will be added to your bar tab at checkout.
Each of our three private booths, which can accommodate up to four-six guests, offers a private and customizable atmosphere. Push a button to call for another round, and even adjust your own music volume.

Large group? For gatherings of up to 15, "The Vault" provides a cozy, sophisticated ambiance. Enjoy an evening of drinks and games with friends in this space, perfect for a memorable and relaxed gathering.
This space costs $50 for every 120 minutes.
WAIT LIST:
We seat guests based on reservations as well as on a first-come, first-served basis. As we reach capacity, we will maintain a waitlist throughout the evening. If we hit full capacity, we might pause or temporarily disable the waitlist to ensure everyone waiting gets a chance to be seated before our final seating at 11 PM. You can join the waitlist in person. We apologize for any inconvenience and recommend joining the waitlist in person if possible.
WALK-INS:
If you're unable to secure a reservation, we welcome walk-ins at Wheat Penny each evening. Starting at 3 PM, we will accommodate as many walk-in guests as possible.
ENTRANCE:
Our main entrance is located along Jefferson Street in Downtown Effingham, nestled inside “The Exchange” building. Look out for the sign that says Wheat Penny, which will be turned on during service hours.
NO LARGE PARTIES:
Our space is designed for intimate experiences, so we limit group sizes to 6 guests or fewer. Larger parties may be accommodated if you have reserved a private space such as “The Vault” or “The Buffalo Room”.
SEATING POLICY:
You will be seated once your entire party has arrived and your table is ready.
CHECK-IN WITH HOST:
To join our waitlist or if you've received a notification that your table is ready, please check in with our host. If the host is not up front, they will be back as soon as they can.
WAITING POLICY:
To ensure a smooth experience for all guests, please wait elsewhere until your table is ready. The foyer in the main entrance is reserved for guest comfort and not for waiting. We recommend exploring other nearby downtown spots like Village Wine, Don Pedro, or Gophers Grill.
HORS D’OEUVRES ONLY:
We offer a selection of bar snacks instead of a full-service menu. We are not a restaurant.
DRESS CODE:
While we have no strict dress code, we welcome any attire, including upscale options if you prefer.
